Anthony Vaccarello’s #YSL02

A debut, sort of.

Well no, not exactly a debut – that title was claimed back in June (here) – the latest campaign from Anthony Vaccarello’s Saint Laurent is however the first to display any of the house’s new sartorial offerings and a big name, in the form of model Anja Rubik.

Maintaining the black and white aesthetic long informed under former creative director Hedi Slimane, Vaccarello’s new visual features a preview of the SS17 collection and was shot by Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin and pays homage to Paris.

While Rubik sort of plays tourist (because who can go to the French capital and not get a photo by the Seine?), she also, according to the accompanying press notes, portrays ‘a free, hedonist and elusive woman’, note the tanlines of a woman not giving a damn, if you will.

Word on the street is a video is set to follow too…
