Is the world ready for them?
Zoot Woman

Things are what they used to be? Er, not quite.

Before Stuart Price took time out to conquer the world like some knob-twiddling, keytar-wielding Dr Evil, Zoot Woman were still a divisive proposition, their highly stylised revivalism deemed insubstantial by non-believers. However, the pop landscape has now changed - in part thanks to Price - and this record feels like the return of an exiled prophet. And, like kindred spirits Phoenix, they've reworked their own template, Johnny Blake sprinting from one chorus to the next while Price piles on the electronic sugar.

Crucially, Zoot Woman now sound ready. Or is it more a case of the world being ready for them?
