Purveyors of all things fuzzy and grungey, these hotly-tipped London-based Seattle-sound revivalists might not quite live up to the hype, not least in the originality stakes. However, this debut will serve as a pleasant trip down memory lane for a certain type of Generation X-er.
They have an uncanny knack for transporting you back to that delirious summer of ripped jeans and badly bleached hair that may or may not have happened. ‘Yuck’ is a satisfyingly catchy re-enactment of what would happen if J.Mascis, Kim Gordon and James Iha had formed an early Pavement tribute band.
