Woodpigeon – Die Stadt Muzikanten

An album to fall in love with

The sheer prettiness of ‘Die Stadt Muzikanten’ is immediate and astounding from its very first listen. A record absolutely brimming with whimsy, folksy loveliness, as a third release it’s a smart move from the Canadian octet and a huge leap forward from the slightly underwhelming ‘Treasury Library Canada’.

Inspired by frontman Mark Hamilton’s itchy feet and movement from city to city, leaving things behind and moving on, ‘Die Stadt Muzikanten’ is a beautiful offering, laced with strings, gorgeous harmonies, and greater tales. Refreshingly breathtaking, this is an album to fall in love with.
