Six years of upheavals precede this debut album, finding the band back to being exclusively female. It’s post-punk with a retro production, giving a barren sound conjuring up memories of Siouxsie Sioux, so no surprises that the punkstress has a bit-part here too.
There is a hypnotic atmosphere throughout, with harsh tinny guitars drilling through your head, and the LP’s only real letdown is that it would benefit from the injection of a change of pace to invigorate the moodiness. That said, there’s enough promise and originality within the current scene to merit considerable credibility.
