If you have yet to be lured into the beguiling arms of New York’s Vampire Weekend, then the latest single from their wonderful self-titled debut album should be the clincher.
An Oxford comma is a grammatically ambiguous use of the humble comma in sentences containing lists but as the opening line of the song says, “who gives a fuck about an Oxford comma?”, when the music is this good. Charming keyboard lines, feisty drums, taut Southern African guitars and Ezra Koenig’s liltingly bitter, life-affirmingly twisted delivery. This is pop music at its catchy, chirpy and duplicitous best.
