No slacking, all passion for progress...
Trash Talk - No Peace

Having initially mixed in straight-up hardcore circles, getting Black Flag’s Keith Morris in for 2009’s ‘East Of Eden’ single, 2014 finds Sacramento foursome Trash Talk (now signed to Odd Future Records) expanding their palette to incorporate a more prominent metalcore punch.

Any aspect of their music that might have felt lightweight before, at least off the stage, has been eradicated: ‘No Peace’ is deliriously heavy, opener proper ‘Jigsaw’ coming on as confrontational as anything by Converge, black blood spilling from split lips.

There’s a little late-’80s grunge to ‘Cloudkicker’, in the basslines especially, but it’s tempered by the fury of the 21st century’s disaffected youth – no slacking, all passion for progress.
