Keeps things sweet and traditional
Toro Y Moi - Underneath The Pine

After the success of Toro Y Moi’s debut release, ‘Causers of This’, Chaz Bundick quickly became an unassuming chief purveyor of yet another bastard genre. Chillwave is not a label he particularly cares about but it’s one he’ll be hard pressed to shift because ‘Underneath the Pine’ seeps laconic relaxation.

Textured, layered and wistfully soulful, ponderous, lingering piano chords are wrapped in giant groundswells that always seem to fall sunny side up. A shift away from the sampling of his debut, ‘Underneath The Pine’ keeps things sweet and traditional, leaving you lazily grinning from ear to ear.
