Agitated is certainly the word. Underground producers Ross Orton and Pipes have taken ‘Watch Me Dance’, last year’s album by their fellow Sheffielder Toddla T, and infused it with a throaty bass growl while doing their utmost to bring out the record’s dancehall and dub reggae tendencies. The result is effectively a brand new record; one that jumps from the speakers evoking the exciting collision of cultures that’s the lifeblood of all big cities. While a worthwhile exercise, you can’t say with confidence that any of the tracks have been improved upon and, as such, the original LP is still the worthier of your time.
