Having lost count of how many times The Who’s incendiary 1970 performance at Leeds University has been re-released, one wonders why it’s necessary to do it again.
However, to mark the gig’s fortieth anniversary comes this ‘Super-Deluxe Collector’s Edition’ – that’s the previously released two-disc entire Leeds set, then the much-awaited debut of the recordings from Hull (from the night after Leeds, which the band preferred), plus a sixty-four page book of memorabilia, a poster, and replica seven-inch single.
So, the ultimate live album adorned with even more greatness, but please, make this the last reissue, okay?!
