Triumphant return
The Whip - Wired Together

Rippling with an energy that teeters on the senselessly agitated, The Whip have always done a neat line in ballsy, noisy guitar-based electro. As driven by singer Bruce Carter’s frantic presence as they are by sleazy synth lines and Fiona Carter’s pounding electronic beats, it’s a dynamic they’ve revelled in. And with some contemporary nods to Daft Punk, Friendly Fires and Ian Brown, third album ‘Wired Together’ hasn’t looked to deviate. ‘Intensity’ is riotous and anthemic, ‘Riot’ can be taken at boisterous face value and barring the tedium of ‘Master Of Ceremonies’ the three-year hiatus has been worth the largely triumphant return.
