The 30th anniversary of The Sex Pistols rise to pre-eminence of punk, when a fantastic media campaign throughout the summer of 1977 ensured they were the most talked about band in the country, is celebrated by that same record company with limited edition vinyl reissues of their singles.
For the younger generation who might not remember Johnny Rotten and co, Holiday in the Sun is typical of their songs – fun but very shallow. In fact the same could be said of the band. And the practise of needlessly attacking rock’s sacred cows. But if the records weren’t re-released, then we wouldn’t need new opinions about them.
