The Mae Shi is an LA-based group that have been around since 2002 and gone through a number of line-up changes.
Their latest incarnation first UK release on Moshi Moshi Records was the excellent single Run To Your Grave. New song Lamb And Lion is even better. With bleeping melodies and shouty, snot-nosed vocals they are the hitherto unsuspected missing link between Blink 182 and Animal Collective. In a blistering two minutes they cram in some feisty riffs, while the dramatic chorus sounds like Arcade Fire but recently released from a secure facility thanks to a zealous religious conversion.
