Chief Arctic Monkey Alex Turner takes time out to engage in some theatrical music making with Miles Kane, front man of The Rascals.
Their debut single, from the album of the same name, is grand scale rock: pompously over-the-top in a way that the earnestly indifferent Arctic Monkeys could never be. There are marching drums, blaring horns, sweltering strings and epic choral interludes. It’s decent, like the theme to a particularly dark Bond film, though you suspect the flecks of Ennio Morricone suggest an affinity with the spaghetti westerns of Sergio Leone.
