The Cave Singers – Dancing On Our Graves

A contemporary and thrilling folk sound

From their name on down The Cave Singers have all the hallmarks of a roots-y folk band so it’s a surprise to discover their actual roots in Seattle punk bands like Pretty Girls Make Graves.

From their debut single’s opening military 4/4 beat and insistent accompanying guitar line the three-piece outfit use their punk background to arrive at a contemporary and thrilling folk sound filled with drama and urgency and imbued with history and importance. If war was cool this would be its badass soundtrack, but it’s not and that’s why The Bloodhound Gang exist.
