The Bamboos

21st Century Funkateers

Aussie funk merchants The Bamboos have returned with a third album packed full of soothing soul and a generous array of guest vocalists.

The album packs in enough variance to tweak the ears of indie cindys, poptarts and acid-jazz junkies alike. Their ‘King Of The Rodeo’ single steals the youthful attitude of the Kings Of Leon original but manages to replace it with a reinterpreted ’60s boogie, complemented by the warmth and splendour of Megan Washington’s voice. For those not quite into ‘taking the bass line for a walk’, the foot tapping goodness of ‘Can’t Help Myself’, featuring hip-hop starlet TY, will appease your differences.
