Thus appears our second album-length helping of Tame Impala, once more tossing us headfirst into the deep end of the psychedelic whirlpool. And if there were ever a modern day reason to go and tie-dye your entire wardrobe, this would be it. Jinking together the familiar, hallucinogen-fuelled guitar strums and splashed-out lyrics of debut first album, ‘Lonerism’, hits a more dejected nerve. That’s far from a negative, mind. Here, front man, Kevin Parker is absorbed by meaningful melancholia as he questions himself on ‘Why Won’t They Talk To Me?’ and ‘She Just Won’t Believe Me’ atop a beautiful tapestry of waterlogged sound. Hypno-grooving at its best.
