Messrs Fitzgerald and Santucci conjure up a neat concoction of electronic melancholy in this, their debut album, under the moniker Stubborn Heart. Whilst they express themselves via a sorrowful heart throughout, there is also a whole lot of soul, adding true emotional depth to a record that has both substance and intensity. At times musically sparse with punctuating beats, the production is extremely good, facilitating individual identities to the musical arrangements and the sombre vocals, which are moody but passionate. Whilst openly influenced by the past, an album that bears the capacity to pioneer into the future - eloquent and elegant.
