Still Corners – Dream Talk

Spell-binding vocals and guitar riffs…

Have you ever listened to some new music and need to listen to it over and over again? Sometimes with the right headphones on and the right setting? This is what this writer had to do to bask in what Still Corners have created with ‘Dream Talk’.

The musical project, created by Tessa Murray and Greg Hughes, is here to be reflective, and romantic, all while bringing listeners peace. That is the main aim, and even with the two creatives meeting by chance at a train stop, they have created tracks such as ‘Turquoise Moon’ that show off their talents and love of fate.

Spell-binding vocals and guitar riffs, that is the best way to describe the new body of work by the duo. It brings that feeling of nostalgia, while also getting any listener to know more. It’s something to truly admire.

‘Dream Talk’ is a cocktail of emotions, where the ingredients are different components of the album. Regardless of whether it is ‘Today Is The Day’ providing the versatile spirit of the feeling of change and seizing the moment, or if it is the soda water in this cocktail being the high-quality production, the album is here to stay.

Some artists create an album for themselves, and others produce beautiful moments that stick with listeners throughout their lives. That is what Still Corners have done with this body of work.

As the ten-track production was repeated multiple times, it became quite clear that tracks such as ‘The Dream’ and ‘Secret World’ were more than what they were created for. In fact, this entire album is more of a journey. It’s a journey that helps anyone escape from the world for a moment and use the enchanting vocals to transport them somewhere else.

It didn’t matter where it was, this writer and many other listeners have been able to get away from their troubles, even if just for a moment, and take a moment to breathe, and listen to this beautiful album.

8/10
