...blazes with confidence from the start

Their recent third album saw Sons & Daughters take their grinding blues sound into more pop territory, so its somewhat ironic that the album’s title track (and latest single) is the most straightforwardly rocking song on the record.

This Gift blazes with confidence from the start, from the taut riff to Adele and Scott’s criss-crossing “ah-ooh” howls, while they pack in more hooks than an assembly line worker at a pirate costume factory. The chanting chorus is like some kind of Glaswegian black magic ceremony and this mix of the macabre and pop is as skilful as ever.
