You’d be forgiven for thinking from the title that this is another of those faceless dance tracks that communicates via Leni Riefensthal-esque videos of nubile women exercising.
But Sebastian Tellier has played with the likes of Serge Gainsbourg and Air, while Sexual Sportswear, the first single from his third album, features production from one half of Daft Punk, Guy Manuel De Homem-Christo. It’s an old school approach to electronic music, there’s the intriguing strangeness of Kraftwerk and the dance sensibilities of Orbital, though it occasionally sounds like an electro take on Phantom of the Opera. The jerky remix is better.
