Starry-eyed aestheticism
Scuba - Personality

Despite all the time spent tweeting, arguing online and DJing at Berlin’s Berghain, Paul Rose still manages to make prolific beats. Clearly afflicted with an acute case of musical ADHD, he’s flitted between dubstep, garage and house like Ryan Giggs had mistresses in recent years. Saying that, nobody would have guessed he’d champion ruffneck breakbeats on ‘The Hope’ or rev up to 170BPM with skittish d&b on ‘Cognitive Dissonance’. ‘July’, however, is more of the sublime broken crystalline house sealed on ‘Adrenalin EP’, part of a hodgepodge LP bound skillfully by the starry-eyed aestheticism he’s become so fond of lately.
