A lost treasure
Rodriguez - Searching For Sugar Man OST

After his first two albums bombed in the early-’70s, Mexican-American singer-songwriter Sixto Rodriguez disappeared into obscurity (at one time presumed dead). Unbeknown to him,
a bootleg of his glorious blues-folk had become a cult phenomenon in apartheid-era South Africa. This release soundtracks the documentary movie which charts the story of two
African fans who decided to track down their hero and is, in essence, a ‘Best Of’ collection. It’s akin to finding lost treasure - a magical blend of protest folk (‘Crucify Your Mind’), soul (‘Sugar Man’) and blues (‘Like Janis’) on a par with any of the greats of Rodriquez’s era.
