There are some masterful pieces on this fifth album…
Polar Bear - In Each And Every One

Four years on from the rightly lauded ‘Peepers’, and with saxophonist Pete Wareham having delivered one of 2013’s most joyous records as part of Melt Yourself Down, this fifth Polar Bear album has plenty to live up to.

Evoking shades of Miles Davis’s ‘In A Silent Way’ in its intensity, these tracks rise and fall many times over, rattling percussion subsiding into unsettling space.

As with much of the band’s work, there are some masterful pieces to cherry-pick, not least ‘Lost In Death Part 2’, which is half swooning trad-jazz, half frantic wig out. It’s a jarring listen from start to finish, but worth sifting.
