“Born A Boy”, the second single off of ‘Man Next Door’, rushes through speakers like a spray of bullets.
It would seem altogether violent if it weren’t for the youthful yelp of frontman Johnny Lloyd reaching for bravado. This persistent assault is paired with a tamer track, “Telescopes” which eases the listener in with much slower vocals, and far gentler instrumentation. This song dips into faster territory throughout, but for the most part focuses on showcasing the gentler capabilities of Lloyd’s voice.
