Big screen bad seeds
Nick Cave and Warren Ellis - The Road Original Film Score

Soundtrack sparring partners on 'The Proposition and The Assassination Of Jesses James By The Coward Robert Ford', Nick Cave and Warren Ellis come together once again to score the film adaptation of Cormac McCarthy’s novel 'The Road'.

Downbeat piano and sombre violins are the primary vehicle for what, at first, seems a rather plaintive journey, with percussive surges and sound loops heightening the sense of drama. It’s the perfect musical accompaniment then for the story of a man and son trudging through a post-apocalyptic landscape. Don’t get too comfortable, though, for soon something sinister this way comes, quivering strings and doom-laden percussive thuds announcing ‘The Cannibals’.
