It’s thrilling to discover artists who don’t fit in a box. Master Peace’s debut album ‘How To Make A Master Peace’ contains an eclectic mix of styles and influences: Opener ‘Los Narcos’ is a full-on assault with its inner-city references, and yet it’s followed by the funk-fuelled relationship-themed ‘Lodge’, with its scuzzy start and jangly guitars. From the electronica of ‘Heaven’ to the bouncing ‘Get Naughty!’, from the indie guitars of ‘Panic101’, to the pulsating beats of ‘I Might Be Fake’ featuring Georgia, there is something for everyone here.
The energy is constant throughout and the kaleidoscopic musical influences inform the variety. Master Peace is obviously a musical sponge, revelling in inspiration from all quarters.
