Martha Skye Murphy – Um

A pearl of a debut album...

The soft caress of the breeze, delicate whispers in your ear, ‘Um’, the debut of Martha Skye Murphy is pop music by way of a collage of the tender, soft, fleeting sounds that make up the human experience. Regularly, her soaring voice entwines with lilting, wafting ambient pop to make for one of the year’s most entrancing debuts.

Through collaborations with producer Ethan P Flynn, and cult legends Roy Montgomery and Claire Rousay, the vision hinted at on Skye Murphy’s early singles is fully realised. From the delicate orchestral arrangement of ‘Theme Parks’ to the frosty beats of ‘IRL’, the devil is in the detail on this pearl of a debut album.
