Mood music for those chilled out Sundays
Marconi Union - Beautifully Falling Apart (Ambient Transmissions Vol.1)

Fourth album from the reclusive Manchester trio who, despite the anonymity they render, have managed to capture the imagination of a fair gathering, including significant rumblings from the USA. The compositions are articulate, with more than a leaning towards a classical arena, creating an atmospheric soundscape, predominantly of an ambient nature, but juxtaposed with elements of jazz fusions. That leads to a risk of meandering towards inaccessible self expression, but the band remain firmly in restrained control, resulting in a composition with a comfortable flow. It’s very much mood music for those chilled out Sundays and anyone with an allegiance to Brian Eno should subscribe.
