Hanging up her supporting mask, Laura Gibson presents her debut solo album, a record that has actually been out Stateside for a year.
As fragile as an eggshell, ‘Beast Of Seasons’ is a pale, subdued journey through contemporary Americana. However, as delicate and airy as ‘Beast Of Seasons’ is, it’s still a bit of a tiring album as it meanders slowly from beginning to end, and the continuity of pretty acoustics and frail vocals gives the impression that it’s not really going anywhere at all.
However, where it stays is elegant and serene; an appropriate soundtrack for the chilly seasons ahead.
