...simply feels staid and unoriginal

The latest single from the much-hyped Late Of The Pier blasts open with a big, jarring synth riff that instantly reminds you of Gary Numan.

Of course, there is no harm in being influenced by electro’s arch proponent, yet despite its high energy Space And The Woods simply feels staid and unoriginal. There is much in common with The Strokes’ halting electro venture on their Room On Fire album. Or imagine Hadouken reaching their mid-20’s and deciding to ease out of the reckless teen party scene so they can concentrate on their developing IT career. LOTP sound like that already.
