Purveyors of fine, futuristic electro pop

Purveyors of fine, futuristic electro pop since the last century Ladytron have finally achieved some success Stateside with this song from their 2005 album Witching Hour.

So the album is being re-released over here and lead single Destroy gets a second outing too. In the two years since the song hasn’t changed – still that haunting, sexy fembot vocal, the mechanical beats and coolly catchy melodies – but the pop landscape has. Suddenly, with upstarts like New Young Pony Club and The Knife around, Ladytron sound staid and retro. Perhaps electro has an inherent need to sound fresh and this song is so obviously not.
