Plenty to be enchanted by
James Yorkston - I Was A Cat From A Book

James Yorkston has long carved a lovely career out of making unhurried folk to soundtrack a self-drawn idyllic world. Recorded in North Wales over five frosty days, no matter how rueful his gently-plucked storytelling becomes - “This is nothing, just a flirt, just a flicker, just a taster, of what it not to come,” goes the wistful chorus of ‘Border Song’ - musically, these new songs glow with warmth due to Yorkston’s charm and tender wit, especially on the powder-soft, barely there ‘This Line Says’. Undeniably there’s little here that will surprise fans, but there is certainly plenty to be enchanted by.
