2010 appears to be hurtling towards the age of post-dubstep. With a majority of mature dubstep no longer vying for the heaviest, wobbliest bassline, producers are developing an emerging subtlety that seems to be determining a preference for atmosphere. As such, Ital Tek’s (Alan Myson) second album is a lighter affair than 2008 debut, ‘Cyclical’. Far from comprising simplistic, repetitive beats capable of murking the most innocent of ears, Myson’s music takes refuge within a twisted, metallic sci-fi theme: a theme that is coming to typify 2010.
