Genuine pop-gems with sun-baked choruses...
Foxes - Glorious

Clocking in at just under 45 minutes – in its standard version, at least – Foxes’ chorus-drenched debut, ‘Glorious’, could hardly be accused of being high-art.

But, nestled beneath the record’s breezy, sugar-coated surface, lurk plenty of well-crafted songs. Early singles ‘Holding On To Heaven’ (video below) and ‘Let Go For Tonight’ are fun, if forgettable, festival-ready romps, but it’s with more leftfield efforts such as ‘White Coats’ that Foxes proves herself a talent worth watching.

With ‘Glorious’ Foxes has made a pop album that, despite occasionally drifting into melodrama, serves as an enjoyable listen stuffed with genuine pop-gems, sun-baked choruses and enough bite to warrant repeated listens.
