Some of their heaviest work yet, but much more than just hulking riffs…

Following Part 1, Foals promised that Part 2 of their 2019 albums would contain some of their heaviest work yet. And while this is true for singles 'Black Bull' and 'The Runner', there is much more here than just hulking riffs.

'Wash Off' is a frenetic piece of swelling math-rock, whilst the fascinating and idiosyncratic nature of 'Dreaming Of' makes for one of Foals' best tracks ever.

Heaviness does find its way into '10,000 Feet', which is then contrasted by the esoteric and melodic meditation of 'Into the Surf'.

Continuing their panache of transcendent closers, the 10-minute 'Neptune' is a tidal wave of atmospheric post-rock that never outstays is breath-taking welcome.

Best listened to with the context of Part 1, the way Part 2 rounds the 'Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost' era off makes for the argument that this is Foals' most accomplished body of work to date.
