As great as their last release was, the live cd/dvd ‘Performing Parades’ with the Danish National Chamber Orchestra, this long player of new material will have those who know the beauty of Efterklang salivating.
Stepping out of their comfort zone, the band recorded away from their home studio, laying down basic vocal, guitar, bass and drum templates for the songs before returning to Copenhagen to add the orchestral and collaborative touches. Also new was the mixing assistance of Gareth Jones, (Nick Cave, Depeche Mode, Mogwai), lending a fresh perspective on the usually insular Efterklang methods. Paired down to their essence, this distilled Efterklang is premium strength stuff.
