Another debut and another guy-gal pairing, this time London-based Thom Hill and Linda Jarvis reign supreme over a dazzling mix of shoegaze, lo-fi psychedelia and fuzzy, mid-period Sonic Youth. ‘Wild Peace’ bulges with choice cuts; ‘Swimmers’ is hazy, hypnotic and deliriously seductive, ‘Just Kids’ is a seven-minute Beach House-meets-Galaxie 500 swoonfest, while the sumptuous slacker rock of ‘Last Song Of The Year’ contains an effortless guitar melody beamed in from the Kurt Vile-Adam Granduciel riff factory. Gloriously prodigious.
