Diversion Tactics – Careful On The Way Up

Doom and boom

It’s all doom and boom at Diversion Guildford HQ, with Zygote’s penchant for grumbling horn samples and lethargic percussion staggering from the cut like Dead Set zombies.

In this limited length long player, MCs Chubby and crew occasionally find themselves locked down rather than liberated by these parameters. As such, highlights come when and where the production lights up the clouds a little, whether that’s where guests Percee P and Tim Dog’s drop sterling Bronx battle rhymes in ‘NY To The UK’, or the string rises of ‘Where I’m From’, which offers a slice of the phat-laced and TDK-taped tales of time served in hip-hop, from a uniquely British perspective.
