After years spent recording conversations on the streets of New York and making soundtracks for star-laden Hollywood films, David Holmes returns to his Belfast roots for this new single.
‘I Heard Wonders’ is an emotionally-charged, fast-paced, uplifting slice of new wave with Suicide lead singer Martin Rev providing Jarvis-esque whispered vocals. It’s far from the cinematic sounds of Holmes’ earlier work or even the overt soul of his Free Association project.
Stripping his sound of the hip references this is the music Holmes would have grown up with but naturally his supreme production skills give it a contemporary sheen.
