Probably best known for his ferocious rap on Edan’s Hendrix-referencing hip-hop stomper Rock’n’Roll, Dagha’s first single release from his second album is an attack on the genre’s most over-used clichés.
Fittingly the Boston rapper’s own career has followed a far from familiar path, having spent 10 years working for a financial institution and still spending the majority of his time teaching music at various schools in his hometown. The track has a similar feel of earnest endeavour with a slow and steady boom bap beat and a sweetly tinkling jazz xylophone backing Dagha’s entertaining roll call of well-worn phrases.
