Cornelia – Engine

Layers of improvisation sessions

Cornelia’s ‘Engine’ is music compiled layer by layer, of improvisation sessions chopped into smooth running material and recorded atmospheric noises all thrown onto basic, often piano based tracks.

‘Coming Home’ is full of ripe production techniques using these ambient and electronic effects to their full potential. Cornelia claimed this album has been sitting in her head for years, and she only made it to clear her cramped cranium. If that’s the case, songs like ‘I’m A Fool’ and ‘Leaving My Father’s House’ must of been plaguing her head with their tender sadness and loss of faith. Cornelia fills her album with the mood and depth you would expect from a former New York art student.
