A free gig, a great venue, some exciting new acts and some sweet Summer sunshine neatly sums Clash’s latest event at London’s 93 Feet East.
Furthering Clash’s commitment to new talent, the event was entitled ‘Future Stars’, showcasing some of the exciting talent that’s been turning us on of late. Now firmly bedded in at Clash Club’s new home, 93 Feet East, the venue came into it’s own as Summer reared it’s freckled face upon the capital.
Using the venue’s two areas to our advantage, we had live music from Joe & Will Ask? and Chew Lips and dj sets from Arrow!!!, Oli Dab Seven Shades of Sh*t and BrokeBlackTraxx. South Central were also scheduled to appear but were unfortunately a bit confused about their stage time and turned up at 1am, just as the club was locking up for the night! A real shame but definitely a band you’ll be hearing more from.
The bands who did have their watches wound, electro duo Joe & Will Ask? and female fronted Chew Lips, who boasted that it was their first gig that didn’t take place in someone’s kitchen, (we certainly spot ’em young), played to a sun loosened crowd soaking up all that lovely fresh talent bursting from the stage. Equally, the djs in the bar area held their own and proved a fair draw for those who desired their music via the (cue lazy drug reference) needle.
Overall a great evening’s entertainment (did i mention it was free too?) that gave some well deserved exposure to the next crop of London’s talent. If only South Central had been on time….
