Now that Nu Rave has shifted the electronic revival into the 90’s Chromeo should sound a touch out-dated.
But the electro duo are so authentically 80’s it doesn’t really matter. This latest single from their Fancy Footwork album is like Rick James being busted for cocaine possession by Crockett and Tubbs, it’s that 80’s. While this isn’t necessarily a good thing, there’s such a high level of craft and attention to detail in the production, from the stunning syncopated beats to the wailing synth riffs and infectious electronics, you can’t help but admire it.
