Defined by slick predictability, dubstep and drum and bass bludgeoning actually equals typically precise and large-scale digitalism, as per C&S’s newly embraced pop orientation. Outright cumbersome in other areas – one rock/metal number in ‘Let You Go’ is more than enough – ‘Hocus Pocus’ is a drum and bass eye-blackener that stands out on an album whose title is a crafty ruse in relation to a guestlist that’s full to bursting. Plan B, Tinie Tempah, Dizzee and honorary cockney Cee Lo (one of the more unpredictable outlets) top a collabo-heavy workload. It’s alright and will shift units: boundaries will rest easy however.
