Cage The Elephant – Ain’t No Rest For The Wicked

Hot fun in the summertime

Hot fun in the summertime with these untamed Southern youths.

Energetic on record, the Cage The Elephant live experience has already gone down in folklore as a must-see extravaganza of blood, sweat and some hard, hard rockin’. Taken from their self-titled debut album, the song features duelling slide guitars that recall the Faces at their gin-addled best, or even The Stones before Jagger decided that jumpsuits made the most of his figure.

Sneering into the microphone like the delinquent cousin of Jack White, the single makes life on the wrong side of the tracks seem quite appealing. A bluesy, boastful swagger of a 45, “Ain’t No Rest For The Wicked” cages the live beast for long enough to show up Kings Of Leon for the peasants they are. Simple, unadulterated fun and all the better for it – make way for the new Southern royalty.
