More than just an over-hyped gimmick band
Breton - Other People’s Problems

Breton are a multimedia collective who operate out of a disused bank in London and who occasionally wear hoods on stage. Predictably, they’ve already been labelled as enigmatic and mysterious... ‘Other People’s Problems’ doesn't sound particularly enigmatic or mysterious. It does, however, sound pretty badass on at least a third of the tracks here. Opener ‘Pacemaker’ starts with chopped strings and pummeling beats, while single ‘Edward The Confessor’ is pure dance punk. It’s far from perfect - ‘Ghost Note’ sounds horribly like Skrillex in places - but there’s enough interesting sonic detours to suggest that these agitators of sound are more than just another over-hyped gimmick band.
