‘Here We Go Crazy’ is Bob Mould’s 15th solo effort since 1989’s ‘Workbook’. He will always give you the truth, as tough as it is to hear. The anthemic title track is full of Sugar sonics, before diving into the thrashy ‘Neanderthal’ – a reflection of Mould’s unsettling childhood. With 11 songs in 30 minutes, this is a throwback to Hüsker Dü, with just slightly less guitar distortion.
inspired by people getting lost in their phones, opening the Pandora’s box of depression and addiction, on ‘Lost Or Stolen’, Mould vocally channels his inner Ian Curtis. The record is not without some brighter moments and a celebration of unconditional love on ‘Thread So Thin’ and ‘Your Side’.
