"...evolution proves more useful than revolution."
Biffy Clyro - Only Revolutions

Scotland’s Biffy Clyro have been rocking away for five albums now, each making inroads into the mainstream, not through comprise but through hard work and generally excelling at what they do.

‘Only Revolutions’ is their fifth, opening with previous single ‘That Golden Rule’ and new single ‘The Captain’ makes for a sure footed beginning. Adding to the general feel of a move to Rock’s premier league, QOTSA's Josh Homme contributes a guitar solo on ‘Bubbles’ and while Top five hit ‘Mountains’ is still the best example here of the band in full majestic flow, there are plenty of big chorus to be enjoyed elsewhere here.

Contrary to the album's title, for Biffy Clyro evolution proves more useful than revolution.
