A much more refined listen
Atlas Sound - Parallax

Bradford Cox teeters on the obsessive compulsive. He’s a man incapable of consolidation, constantly working towards another annual release - be it with Deerhunter or, his own plaything, Atlas Sound - marking another productive year on the wall. But what makes his prolific output all the more impressive is it’s invariably of a high standard. After the impulsive creativity of ‘Logos’, ‘Parallax’, by contrast, is a much more refined listen. Adopting the ambient atmospherics and soupy reverb of its predecessors, Cox’s vocal still floats to typically relaxing effect but where ‘Logos’ lacked conventional structure, here he ensures that every intricacy is amplified with a blissful simplicity.
